Before Gary was a writer, he was a visual artist: a painter/photographer/conceptual artist/mail artist turned professional illustrator/designer. Yes, he sold out (for a time he considered changing his name to "Bascom," short for "Basically Commercial"). His work appeared in dozens of magazines, newspapers, countless textbooks, and the books listed below.
Today, all that remains is a passion for photography -- some of which can be seen on various pages of this site.
